Greensboro: Personal Injury Lawyer
Our Fee is 25% of Settlement
Greensboro Personal Injury Lawyer
Greensboro is a dangerous area for drivers. Guilford County concentrates a lot of traffic in a relatively small area. Two interstates converge here, while the Urban Loop adds high-speed merges around the perimeter. Bryan Boulevard and I-73 carry traffic toward the airport, and the FedEx Express hub at Piedmont Triad International brings thousands of commercial vehicles onto local roads each week. Wendover Avenue, Battleground Avenue, and I-40 near Guilford College Road are among the areas where collisions occur daily.
Nagle & Associates, P.A. represents people hurt in those crashes. We do that and nothing else.

We Only Handle One Kind of Case
Nagle & Associates is the only law firm in North Carolina that handles exclusively motor vehicle accident cases. Every other type of personal injury legal case gets turned away or referred out.
Our pure focus on roadway crash cases is a choice, and we feel that this benefits every client. With over three decades handling nothing but roadway crashes, this firm has mastered two fields that are critical in the development of every winning case. North Carolina auto accident & insurance law and traumatic medicine. Carl’s book, North Carolina Auto Accident & Insurance Law, is in its Third Edition. This book explains insurance coverage law, trial practice laws, evidence laws, and the law of damages that defines what a crash victim can collect.
For crash victims, the value of the case depends primarily on the quality and impact of the medical evidence offered to prove the true nature and full extent of all injuries. Our medical knowledge and experience is immense. Our paralegals read medical records and diagnostic reports with decades of experience behind them. Our lawyers have worked with the best doctors and surgeons in the state, and we understand how traumatic injuries impact crash victims during their recovery, and long into the future.
Our Greensboro personal injury firm handles:
- Car accidents, including the rear-end and left-turn collisions that make up most of the claims in this county
- Truck accidents on the I-40 and I-85 freight corridor
- Motorcycle accidents, which Carl Nagle handles personally
- Uber and Lyft crashes
- Catastrophic injuries requiring lifetime care
- Wrongful death cases after a fatal crash
Carl Nagle Worked for the Other Side First
Carl Nagle is a former insurance claims adjuster and former insurance defense attorney. He adjusted claims for Progressive, including on-call work for their commercial lines division, which meant flying to tractor-trailer crash scenes across the southeast to find evidence that would defeat a victim’s claim. Later he worked as an insurance company lawyer. In this role, he defended careless drivers and trucking companies in Atlanta courts.
That background shows up most in our ability to locate and access multiple insurance policies to maximize funds available in every case. The at-fault driver’s policy shown on the Greensboro Police Report is frequently not the only money available, and insurance adjusters don’t help you find outside policies or reasons to pay more money.
In any case where injuries will not be fairly funded by the at-fault driver’s policy, we look for umbrella and excess policies, an employer’s commercial coverage when the driver was working, and all available uninsured and underinsured motorist coverage. Underinsured motorist (UIM) coverage is available in almost every NC crash case. Also, North Carolina allows UIM stacking, and since the law changed in 2025, UIM applies in every case where liability coverage falls short of the claim’s true value. Stacking means that the victim often can collect from multiple policies, including UIM on the vehicle you were riding in, UIM on your own personal auto policy, and UIM belonging to every relative by blood or marriage who lived at your address on the crash date. They stack, one on top of the other, and this coverage adds up fast.
Carl’s standing warning to crash victims: claims adjusters are paid cost-control experts, and friendliness is a technique for gaining your trust while they work to minimize your claim. Don’t take your legal advice from the adjuster who is paid to oppose your accident claims.

Our Fee Is 25 Percent
Most personal injury firms charge 33.3%. Ours is 25%, which leaves clients with 75% of every settlement dollar instead of about 66%, all of it tax-free. On a $1 million settlement that’s roughly $83,300 in additional funding for our client, solely because of our discounted fee. Thus, the client’s share is $750,000 instead of $667,000, all tax-free. If a case has to be tried, our litigation fee is 33%, well below the 40%-44% most injury lawyers charge once suit is filed.
The fee also covers case administration costs that many firms bill separately, including postage, copies, etc. While in NC legal clients are responsible to fund filing fees and litigation costs, we advance those costs in every case. Thus, you never pay any costs or fees until the case closes, and we are glad to invest in the case to make sure we have the most valuable evidence. We also help our clients with their property damage claims, and charge no fee for this service. After settlement we work to minimize outside claims against settlement funds, including claims for medical bills and health insurance liens. These steps increase what our clients keep.
Carl reduced the fee to 25% more than a decade ago because he believed a quarter was fairer. We have collected over $850,000,000 for NC crash victims, and we put our clients first by offering a lower fee. We also discount our fee to show that we are fully confident that we will collect maximum payment for any client who trusts us to pursue their legal claims. If we secure a top-dollar settlement, we are glad to charge a smaller share.
In North Carolina, 1% Fault Ends a Case
North Carolina is one of four states, plus the District of Columbia, that still applies pure contributory negligence. A crash victim found 1% at fault recovers nothing from the driver who hit them. Not a reduced amount. Nothing. Adjusters know this and build their questions around it, which is the single best reason to decline a recorded statement until a lawyer has looked at the evidence with you.
Deadlines compound the problem. An injury lawsuit has to be filed within three years, and a wrongful death claim within two, with an estate opened and an administrator appointed before that suit can be filed. The practical deadline is much shorter. Witnesses move, vehicles get scrapped, and camera footage gets overwritten on a short loop. Trucking companies may destroy certain driver records after six months, and rideshare trip data doesn’t sit on a server forever. Insurance companies always act very quickly after serious accidents occur, and you should too.
Because a stray sentence or a missing record can end a claim here, we investigate fast. Two retired North Carolina State Troopers and three licensed North Carolina claims adjusters work on staff, and we know how to collect and preserve the evidence that matters most. We also have worked with the best crash reconstruction engineers and forensic experts in the state. Thus, we stand ready to confront the insurance carrier’s effort to defend and minimize your Greensboro crash case.
What Working With Us Looks Like
We handle the paperwork, the insurance communications, and the legwork. You work with your doctors to recover your health, and we handle everything else.
This firm has no voicemail. When you call, a person answers. Every client gets a dedicated paralegal and direct access to their attorney, and we keep a 30-day calendar on every case so nobody has to wonder where things stand. We don’t advertise on television, radio, or billboards, which is a deliberate choice tied to reputation and to keeping fees low.
Most cases settle privately with no lawsuit and no court appearance. When an adjuster refuses to pay fair value, we’re prepared to try the case in Guilford County Superior Court or in the United States District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina, which sits downtown on West Market Street. If you live outside of Greensboro, we conduct your trial in your home county.
Over roughly 30 years our firm has recovered more than $850 million for North Carolina car, truck, motorcycle, and roadway crash victims, with individual settlements ranging from the hundreds of thousands to well over $10 million. Carl Nagle is a member of the Million Dollar Advocates Forum and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum, which admits only lawyers who have resolved cases for $2 million or more. Clients tend to describe the same experience when it’s over. Somebody explained what was happening and kept explaining it, the calls from insurance companies stopped, and they got to spend their recovery recovering.
