Raleigh: Personal Injury Lawyer

Our Fee is 25% of Settlement

Raleigh Personal Injury Lawyer

Raleigh got big fast, and our roads did not keep pace with our city’s expansion. Visitors and residents all notice that traffic is a big problem here. The Beltline runs at capacity most of the day. I-40 through the RDU interchange mixes typical drivers and commuters with delivery vans, business traffic and tractor-trailers moving freight between Raleigh and Durham. Capital Boulevard, Six Forks Road, and the ramps feeding Crabtree Valley and Brier Creek generate collisions constantly.

Nagle & Associates, P.A. handles the injury claims that are caused by Raleigh vehicle crashes, and this is the only type of case our firm accepts.

One of Our Busiest Markets

Our Raleigh office at 7780 Brier Creek Parkway, Suite 210, serves clients across Wake County and the wider Research Triangle area, including Durham, Cary, Apex & Chapel Hill. Raleigh is one of our busiest offices, and we have had great success navigating maximum settlements for Raleigh crash victims and handling litigation in Wake County Superior Court.

If you have questions regarding a Raleigh area collision, we invite you to please call (919) 433-0035 or (800) 411-1583 for a free consultation.

What Happens When You Call Us

The first conversation is free, by phone or at the Brier Creek office. Accident victims’ first mistake is to place trust with the insurance adjuster who is being paid to oppose your claims. We offer a free consultation and we are glad to review your case and explain your legal rights even if you prefer not to work with a lawyer.

The first call is a friendly conversation, and our hope is to help you understand your circumstances and what lies ahead. We will talk about your accident facts, your injuries, and the treatment so far, then tell you what we would do and what to watch for in any conversation with an adjuster. People call for that alone and we are always glad to help. During that conversation, you will get a feel for how a lawyer can help, and how a lawyer might help you collect more net compensation, even after the attorney’s fee is deducted from the settlement. The attorney-client relationship should be win-win in an injury case. If you do choose to hire us, we take over all insurance communications that day, investigate fault, find every policy that may owe you money, and work with your doctors to collect and build the most valuable medical evidence.

We work with you during your medical recovery, and handle all insurance filings and legwork on your behalf. Once we build evidence to prove fault and force of impact, and once the medical evidence is carefully developed, we then send a money demand. Here, we threaten a lawsuit and winning trial, and motivate the insurance company to pay full value to settle the claim. We then negotiate aggressively to secure the best offer. If the adjuster pays full value, we settle the case privately with no lawsuit filings and no court involvement. If they refuse to pay fairly, we conduct your trial in your home county. Whether this is Wake or a surrounding county, we stand ready to conduct your jury trial anywhere in North Carolina.

Raleigh Legal Cases We Accept

Nagle & Associates is North Carolina’s only pure motor vehicle accident injury law firm. We only handle roadway injury cases arising from car crashes, motorcycle and truck accidents, or other roadway mishaps. Every other type of legal case gets turned away or referred out. Our attorneys are not splitting attention between crash claims, slip-and-falls, disability claims, medical malpractice cases, workers’ compensation, or other unrelated practice areas. Every file in this office arises from a vehicle accident.

In Raleigh, our cases involve:

Our Fee Is 25 Percent

We offer NC’s lowest personal injury legal fee. Our fee is 25% of settlement, 8.3% less than the 33.3% that other firms charge. In a $1 million dollar settlement, our fee is $250,000 where other firms charge $333,000. Thus, our fee discount puts an additional $83,000 in tax-free money directly into your hands. Should the case require a trial, we charge 33%, while most injury lawyers move their legal fee up to 40-44% the moment a lawsuit gets filed.

We also never charge administrative expenses. Where other firms charge for postage, copies, etc., we include those costs in our fee. We also charge no legal fee to help our clients with their property damage claims.

The 25% figure dates back more than a decade, to a decision Carl made that a quarter of a settlement (instead of a third) was simply the fairer number. Our total compensation collected for NC crash victims has passed $850 million since then.

Carl Nagle Spent Years on the Insurance Side

Carl Nagle worked for the insurance industry before he ever represented an injured person.

He adjusted claims for Progressive, including on-call duty for the commercial lines division, which meant being flown to tractor-trailer crash scenes across the southeast to find evidence that would defeat a victim’s claim. He valued claims as an adjuster, and negotiated on behalf of Progressive. After law school, Carl spent years as an insurance defense lawyer in Atlanta, defending careless drivers and their insurance companies in Atlanta area courts.

Carl knows how insurance companies work to minimize claims, and he also knows how to motivate them to pay maximum settlements in serious injury cases. Carl’s insurance background matters most when it comes to finding money. The policy listed on your Raleigh police report is frequently not the only coverage available, and no adjuster will point you toward outside policies and hidden money sources. When the at-fault driver’s limits will not cover the full value of your injury claims, we look for umbrella and excess policies, an employer’s commercial coverage if the driver was working, and every layer of uninsured and underinsured motorist (UM/UIM) coverage.

North Carolina permits UM/UIM stacking, and since the law changed in 2025, UIM now reaches nearly every case where the liability coverage falls short. Most Raleigh crash victims with serious injuries can collect from several policies at once, including liability policies and UIM on their own auto policy and UIM belonging to relatives living at their address on the date of the crash.

Carl’s standing warning to crash victims is blunt: “Claims adjusters are paid cost-control professionals, and the friendliness is a technique for earning your trust while they work to reduce what you collect. Never trust an adjuster to listen to your side or to help you collect what you are truly due.”

1% Fault Can End Your Injury Claim

North Carolina applies pure contributory negligence, which only three other states and the District of Columbia still do. A crash victim found 1% at fault for their collision recovers nothing from the driver who hit them. There is no reduced award, the payment goes to zero.

Adjusters investigate accidents and build their questions around that rule. Give no recorded statement until a lawyer has gone through the evidence with you.

Deadlines make it worse. An injury lawsuit has three years, a wrongful death lawsuit has two, and the family cannot file the second one until an estate is opened and an administrator appointed. Those are the outside limits. The practical deadline runs much earlier, because witnesses relocate, vehicles get repaired or scrapped, and camera footage gets overwritten within days. In any case involving serious injury, the crash victim should act immediately to protect their legal rights.

Insurance companies move immediately after a serious wreck. Two retired North Carolina State Troopers and three licensed North Carolina claims adjusters work on our staff, and we have retained the best crash reconstruction engineers and forensic experts in the state when a case called for it. We stand ready to start working on your behalf now.
