Why Do I Need a Personal Injury Lawyer With Insurance Industry Experience?

You might wonder why Carl Nagle’s background working in the insurance industry matters. It’s simple.

When you file a personal injury claim, it’s the at-fault driver’s insurance company that handles your settlement. The claims adjuster evaluates your situation and works with the insurance company to develop a plan to settle with the victim for the smallest payment possible. While handling a collision-related injury claim should be a straight-forward process, it isn’t. There are a lot of complexities and pitfalls that impact the insurance company’s decisions, and as for-profit companies, they know that claims payments should be minimized whenever possible. Further, all the victim truly receives following a motor vehicle accident is a “cause of action”, or mere right to sue. Thus, when you handle your case alone and without an attorney, the adjuster knows you intend to settle and likely don’t even know how much your case would be worth at trial. For these reasons, insurance adjusters always offer steeply discounted settlements to unrepresented crash victims.

The fact is, no one should have to settle for an amount that barely covers the cost of their medical bills and damage to their property. No one should be led to believe that insurance companies have their best interest in mind and will voluntarily offer fair and full compensation. People injured in auto accidents have a high risk of being unfairly compensated, so much so that working with an experienced personal injury attorney is often the only way to reach a fair settlement amount.

Carl Nagle’s experience in the auto insurance industry taught him the ways insurance companies handle claims. He understands how and why claims adjusters try so hard to minimize payments to victims, and he knows exactly how to handle objections from claims adjusters. When you hire Carl Nagle and his team to handle your personal injury case, you can rest assured knowing you have an experienced, knowledgeable, and caring lawyer on your side every step of the way.

North Carolina Car Accident Attorneys Who Care About You

At Nagle & Associates, P.A., we are passionate about helping victims of auto accidents get the highest settlement amount possible. Every single lawyer we hire has one goal — to guide auto accident victims through the process of filing and settling a personal injury claim in the simplest possible way. And we are a trial law process – if the insurance company fails to offer a fair settlement, we stand ready to bring your case through trial and your home county. Most cases settle, but our strong threat of suit is typically what motivates the highest and best offer in our client’s injury cases.

Carl Nagle started a law firm focusing solely on personal injury cases that are the result of an automobile accident because he wanted to utilize his direct insurance industry experience to maximize the benefits of his legal representation. By handling on one area of law, we remain up to date on insurance laws, traffic laws, health insurance regulations, evidence laws, and the law of damages that determines exactly how much can be collected in every case. Further, by remaining in the traumatic injury arena for decades, our team has vast medical knowledge and we know exactly how to work with your doctors and outside medical experts to properly prove how your injuries impact your health, earning ability and overall quality-of-life. Nagle & Associates, P.A. focuses first and foremost on serving our clients and truly understanding their injuries. Then, on landing them the highest possible settlement amount.

When it comes to customer service, our lawyers go above and beyond to meet our clients’ needs. If you have additional problems arise pertaining to your health insurance filings, medical payment claims, and/or property damage claims, our lawyers work hard to resolve these issues on your behalf without charging you any additional money. Also, at the beginning of your case, we are glad to meet with a new client in their home or workplace if this helps to get their case started. These home meetings are free of charge, and are just one example of how we strive to make the post-collision legal process as easy as possible for every one of our valued clients.

Mr. Nagle’s Reduced Fees & Pay Nothing If We Don’t Win

We stand behind our approach to settling personal injury claims 100 percent. That’s one reason that we don’t charge you a thing if we can’t compel the insurance company to pay tax-free money to settle your injury claims. Our fee is pure contingency, meaning we collect no legal fees unless and until we collect money for you. You don’t need to pay any upfront costs to start the claims process either. You don’t pay us until your settlement is received. With a simple meeting and a signature authorizing us to act on your behalf, we can start working for you today.

Additionally, so we can best serve you, we only charge 25 percent of your settlement offer, while other personal injury lawyers charge 33 1/3 percent. Remember that by understanding your injuries and presenting your case alongside a valid threat of trial, we motivate insurance companies to pay more than the client could collect on their own. Thus, to the extent that we increase the insurance company’s payout, we pay our own fee. While every case is different, our goal is to leave our clients with more net money in their pocket than they would have collected alone even after our attorneys fee is paid. If your case goes to court, which doesn’t happen often, our fee is 33 1/3 percent of your trial result. This is to cover the additional time, work and risks involved in litigation. Other personal injury lawyers charge between 40 and 44 percent of the trial result. Thus, whether the case is settled or tried to a jury, our fees are far lower than other personal injury lawyers’. This allows you to keep more of your money when your case is over.

Lastly, we don’t require you to pay any litigation costs, such as filing fees, up front. We advance these and the payment comes out of your settlement. This way, your case isn’t held up if you can’t afford to pay litigation expenses while waiting for your settlement. By law, personal injury attorneys can’t pay the fees and costs associated with litigation, which is why they are only advanced. Again, most cases settle so we see little or no case-related costs in most cases. Further, while many personal injury firms charge administrative fees on top of their legal fees, we don’t charge any fees for things related to interoffice expenses such as making copies, long-distance phone call costs, and postage.

Why are our fees lower than that of personal injury firms with less experience?

We truly care about all of our clients. We understand that you’re going through a difficult time in life, and helping you through it is our number one priority. When you work with Nagle & Associates, P.A., you’re treated like a person, not just another case in our workload. Also, our firm is typically involved in serious motor vehicle collisions, accidents that result in significant and lasting injuries. Long ago, Carl Nagle chose to focus on these cases and the clients who needed his help the most. Because these cases involve higher damages and higher settlements, Mr. Nagle reduced his fee percentage as he felt that 25% of settlement was simply more fair for his clients.
