Columbus County Collision Leaves One Dead
Martha Mintz died of injuries she received in an accident on US 74/76 at the Columbus and Brunswick County lines on Friday at around 4 PM. Pierre Walker, driving a Cadillac DeVille, first struck a white van then crossed into opposing traffic and struck a Chevrolet HHR, operated by Ms. Mintz, head-on. Mr. Walker was taken into custody at the scene and had multiple charges, including habitual DWI, felony death and second degree murder. Mr. Walker was driving on a revoked license.
