RALEIGH, NC - A single vehicle car accident near Maysville, NC caused serious personal injury to the driver and two guest passengers on Wednesday July 4, 2012. The driver of the vehicle, Thomas Blount, ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected and ran off the left side of the road. This caused the car to overturn several times. A 12 year old girl was ejected from the vehicle. Her injuries required her to be flown by life-flight helicopter ambulance for trauma care at Vidant Health Center in Greenville, North Carolina. Mr. Blount and another adult female passenger were transported by EMS to Carolina East Medical Center for treatment of their accident-related injuries.
