CHARLOTTE NC - Kevin Sweet was struck and killed while walking along Bethel Church Road in the early hours of Saturday morning, June 16. Witnesses were able to describe the at-fault vehicle, which fled the scene, and police traced the vehicle and arrested the alleged driver, Jacob Kost and the alleged passenger, Jason Shaw. Mr. Sweet died of the personal injuries received in the accident and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver, Mr. Kost was charged with 1st degree murder, hit and run, driving while impaired and driving with a revoked license. His passenger, Mr Shaw was charged as an accessory to murder.
