WILMINGTON NC - Another car accident related fatality has occurred for year 2012 in the seaside area near Wilmington, North Carolina. A 2 car, head-on collision resulted in fatal injury to one driver, and serious personal injury to the other driver on Monday, June 18, 2012 on River Road near Leland at about 7:30 AM. According to police investigators, one driver was attempting to pass other traffic and struck another vehicle traveling in the opposite direction. The 2 vehicles ended up on opposite sides of the road due to the force of crash. One of the drivers was pronounced dead at the scene. The second driver was taken by EMS to New Hanover Regional Medical Center for treatment of his accident related injuries.
