Fatal Head On Collision Between SUV and Tractor Trailer

A tragic collision occurred on Swanns Station Road in Stanford on Monday morning. The crash investigation indicates that an Isuzu private passenger vehicle crossed the center line and collided head on with an oncoming tractor trailer which was reported being properly and safely operated by commercial truck driver Edward Mincy of Leland, N.C. The tractor trailer was loaded with rocks and was traveling on Swanns Station Road when the approaching vehicle crossed into the truck's path. The identity of the driver of the Isuzu has not yet been identified by authorities.

Fortunately, the truck driver did not incur serious injuries from the crash. Firefighters were on scene to douse a fire, which ignited when the Isuzu and the truck cab collided. Because a fatality occurred, an ongoing N.C. State Patrol crash investigation remains underway.
