When reading your report, begin with a scan of all driver names and vehicle information to ensure that the officer has correctly linked each driver to the appropriate vehicle. In accidents involving two cars, the report will be a two page document, typically front and back of one sheet of paper. Pedestrians are treated as vehicles for the purpose of accident reporting (their name will be listed in driver section, but no vehicle information will be listed below their personal information). If more than two vehicles are involved, there will be a single Police Report page for each pair of vehicles, and each vehicle will be identified by a Unit Number, located top left just above the driver's name. The Unit Numbers should be carefully noted as they will correspond to the officer's diagram and drawing of the accident, and to the officer's narrative description of how he believes the accident occurred.
